Dear Trail Runners and Walkers,
Wow its October and things are happening at KZNTR, we have been busy rebuilding and its been great to see some good turnouts at recent events. Our main focus has been to ensure great trails and a great vibe with a well provided for race village. Getting those basics right and then building from there. Let us know how YOU think we are doing, and any suggestions will always be welcome.
Along these lines we also want to know what your favorite KZNTR trail is and why…? So please respond to this email and tell us. If we select your response for publication on our website you will win a double ticket to any standard KZNTR event. Simple as that! Include a photo of yourself enjoying it and your chances of winning will those double tickets will improve even more!
Hosts at Howick Trail Run this weekend are Lauren and Mmeli…
Lauren will be bringing along her vibe, two sons as well as some blueberries and oranges from the Lowveld.
Mmeli brings his vibe and his exceptional team of trail runners from Inanda Trail Running Club.
Add in Le Petit Cafe and some great trails….then the final and most important ingredient is YOU and the rest of the trail running community.
Entries are flowing, this Sunday is going to be a vibe.

From its original venue!
Yes that’s right, we are moving back up the hill to the Border Post on Sterkfontein Dam. This original venue played host from the events inception in 2015 all the way through to 2020.
The main reason for the move is to be able to access the orginal course which had a feel and status to it that was lost when we moved into the “bowl” below where many other events now take place. We also asked the questions on KZNTR LIVE and the feedback was very much to move back!
So PEN that weekend down. We will be opening up entries and packages soon.
Mnweni Marathon

A mountain classic this is one of South Africa’s oldest mountain races and comes with bragging rights for anyone or competes the 3 day hiking route in a day. A 21km and 10km route that don’t go to the top of the escarpment are also on offer.
We will open the entries at the same time as DNT and include a heavily discounted ticket to those taking on both of these epic mountain events.
So book the weekends into your diary and watch this space for entries opening soon.
