Rocky Bay vibes this Sunday...

Dear Trail Runners and Walkers,
The trail running community brought a real vibe to Howick and uMngeni River Run this weekend. With six different distances on offer, there was something for everyone. The most impressive stats coming through in the 50km where a field of 50% women and 50% men showed the ultra running spirit – Matt Dove was first and Carla van Huysteen second (overall).
On reflection after our first event back and a 2-year ‘sabbatical’, we knew the time was right for us to step back. It felt like we had never left, in the best possible way. We have a deep connection to this team and community, and we felt it all at URR 2025 – we hope that you did too! We look forward to making more magic together on the trails!
But lets look forward and its Rocky Bay this weekend! Mmeli Ndimande from the Inanda Trail Running Club will be on the mic and his team of runners taking to the trails. This team is core to the KZNTR community and running scene. Despite challenges, the club has found ways to get their runners to events and we are busy working with them to find more opportunities. Please get in touch with us if you would like to support this endeavor!
The courses at Rocky Bay are well established and not overly technical – a great place to start trail running, or increase your distance. Why not reach out to an old trail friend, or someone new you think might really enjoy the sport, and head south from Durban this Sunday? The crew would love to host you at this scenic, oceanside venue.

Kruger2Canyon 2026 entries open on 1 September
K2C Challenge 2026 is set for 26 – 28 June.
Entries open on 1 September with a 48hr opening special that will offer exceptional value for this really special stage race, which is going into its 11th year!
It takes place right at the beginning of school holidays, so ideal for the family! Many people take the opportunity to link it in with a trip to Kruger and surrounds – there is so much to do up in the Lowveld! Plan in advance to make sure you get the bookings you want.
On site accommodation is also limited, so take advantage with the special and get sorted for K2C2026.
