Distance: 6 km

Start time: 7:45 am | Walkers Welcome

Elevation gain: 119 m

Water tables: 1 table en route.

The route starts with a moderate climb over the first 2 km along jeep track through the sugarcane farms. The course then moves onto a single track, which loops through the indigenous forests. The last 1.5 km descends back to the finish through the cane lands with lovely sea views.

The route starts along the same route as the 6 km & 12 km courses with a moderate climb over the first 2 km along jeep track through the sugarcane farms. The course then veers off, looping through indigenous forests, along drainage lines and between sugarcane. The last 1.5 km descends back to the finish through the cane lands with lovely sea views.

This great venue offers farmland and coastal forest running with beautiful sea views on the Rocky Bay Trails, including jeep track and fantastic sections of flowing single track.

The Sugar Post at Rocky Bay Resort is more than just a restaurant! Pay them a visit after your run for gourmet food served in an Ouma se Kombuis atmosphere.

Pre-entries close at MIDDAY on Friday, 29th March.  Late entries will be available on the day of the event but at a R50 surcharge (U18’s exempt). Substitutions can also be made before the event but need to be finalised a week before the event commences and are charged a R50 admin fee. To arrange a substitution, contact info@kzntrailrunning.co.za.

Registration and late entries will open at 6:00am through to 7:30am. Please  arrive with plenty of time to process your registration.

KZNTR KidZone will be available for Children (2yrs+). Experienced childminders will allow parents to get out and enjoy exhilarating trails by distracting (and watching over) the little ones with stimulating and fun activities at the Race Village.

As KZNTR is moving toward the more ecologically friendly cupless water tables, we ask you to please ensure that you bring your own trail cup, water bottles and/or hydration packs for on course hydration and refills!

Accommodation
There are self-catering log cabin chalets and a magnificent campsite available at Rocky Bay Resorts. Bookings for Log Cabin Chalets will have a 20% discount in accordance with the event. For more information and bookings call 039 976 0336.

Venue: Rocky Bay Resorts, Park Rynie.

From Pietermaritzburg (ETA 1 hr 30 min):

  • Follow the N3 southbound and follow signage for Port Shepstone at Interchange 165-E B Cloete.
  • Travel south from Durban on the N2 and take Exit 104 to Park Rynie / R612.
  • Turn left (seaward) onto the R612 and at the traffic lights, turn right onto the R102.
  • Travel for approx. 3km, where Rocky Bay Resort is signposted on the left.

From Durban (ETA 50 min):

  • Travel south from Durban on the N2 and take Exit 104 to Park Rynie / R612.
  • Turn left (seaward) onto the R612 and at the traffic lights, turn right onto the R102.
  • Travel for approx. 3km, where Rocky Bay Resort is signposted on the left.
