Got to keep on moving...

The 2022 setup on the field at Laerskool Mariepskop in Kampersrus

Dear Trail Runners & Walkers,

The Booth’s are moving to the Lowveld.
There we go, it’s confirmed for the end of the year!

It’s been a long time coming and many stars needed to align to make it actually happen, but we are super stoked to be able to announce our move to the small town of Kampersrus (host town to Kruger2Canyon Challenge) at the end of the year. Its a stunning little town situated where the Lowveld meets the mountains (the most northern tip of the Drakensberg seen in the above pic).

KZNTR will carry on operating in KZN in a very similar the same way it has done so over the last 12 years, although we have found a new home for KZNTR that we will announce very soon! (leak…. it includes a new trail network!)

Lowveld Trail Running is a sister company of KZNTR that has been growing and operating successfully out of Hoedspruit since 2018, but the move also comes with a new line of work, so it won’t all be about trail running moving forward.

As many of you know I (Andrew) have been training since the beginning of 2020 to become a Big 5 Trails Guide. My passion of creating opportunities for people to discover themselves in nature continues, but in a totally different setting and in a more immersive way.

It’s really sad in some ways, that we are leaving KZN where our love for trail running and organising events started. It’s been a “passion” project that we have driven hard for more than a decade. But we have recognised that for KZNTR to continue to flourish we need to step back and allow new energy to the front, while shifting our focus and passion to new exciting spaces that have presented themselves and are drawing us in. The boys will attend the local school (host venue for K2C) and lauren will continue to create all the beautiful merchandise for all the events. Time to embrace the change!

Have a great Friday and see you on the trail!

Also don’t be strangers, come and visit us in the Lowveld next year, there are some incredible trail experiences to be had!

Andrew, Lauren and the Boys.

URR 2022 - 2 weeks to go

Our longest standing ultra trail run is now only 2 weeks away. Its takes place out of WESSA Umngeni Valley, but incorporates the Hilton College Nature Reserve as well. Be prepared to get wet and cross the river on all the longer courses (25k, 50k and 75k).

We take a no-frills, no-fuss approach to the extras on this race. It’s back-to-basics and all about the trail here – single-track overload, KZNTR-style routes with no sideshows. Except Lauren’s soup…that’s worth running an ultra for…!

URR is perfectly positioned for those lining up the Karkloof 100 / 50 Miler later in the year as it gives the night-running element and bonus of getting that LSD done in a group!
