Kruger2Canyon Challenge
The ultimate destination race!
Diversity is the name of the game at the Kruger2Canyon Challenge.
The much loved (and feared) Day 1 of K2C forms part of the newly launched Mountain Marathon Series and for good reason – with close to 1000m elevation gain in the first 5km, there is no playing around here! But exploring ancient forests and elements of fynbos makes it worthwhile – the plant diversity alone exceeds that of Table Mountain with over 1400 floral species and 2000 different plants. The mountains foothills rest in Savannah biome, whilst its slopes are scattered with montane forests in pristine condition!
But the moderate Day 2 compensates, with gentle undulations (yes, we mean gentle…), Savannah bushveld and a Big 4 game (no buffalo) experience on foot.
With two distances available on each day, one or two day packages as well as spectator packages and activities abounding (have we mentioned it is 40min from the Kruger National Park??), this is the ultimate destination race.
For Entries:

Two beards and John Ross
Many of you will know Toom Hart – a long-time supporter of KZNTR, having worked as a photographer and videographer, and run many of our events, many barefoot.
The John Ross Challenge was 1580km barefoot expedition undertaken by Thomas Hart and Simphiwe Ngcobo in 2016, that started from the heart of Pietermaritzburg, cutting through Swaziland, all the way to Mozambique and ended in Durban.
The challenged pushed the boundaries of physical endurance, trauma, relationships with one another and who we are as Africans.
Come and join us as we will be unpacking our adventure, the ups and downs and our misfortunes and fortunes throughout the expedition, we will bare it all.
Also we would be looking at the future of African adventurism. So we urge you to save the date and bring a friend or two and join us as we relive this amazing adventure through our narration respectively, pictures and some video footages.
