The 7th edition of the uMngeni River Run sees some changes to format as well as venue, but trail running purists need not fear as the event will still maintain its traditional and cherished “no frills, no fuss” roots. Just great trail, great company and great craft beer!
New venue
Always striving to provide the best possible trail experience for runners and walkers, we have re-located URR to WESSA, uMngeni Valley Nature Reserve. A favourite of ours, this new venue means that courses will explore the very best of both WESSA and Hilton College trails on Sunday 12th August.
New addition
URR has historically offered 10km, 25km and 50km events to choose from and has subsequently become popular with ultra-distance trail runners. 2018 sees an exciting new addition to the line-up – a 75km distance option which will start at 2am on Sunday morning.
This addition will be especially appealing to ultra-runners who are looking to gain some night time running experience as well as some good-quality trail mileage. Great training for those who will be taking on events such as Karkloof100 and SkyRun later in the year!
