On the weekend of the 18th and 19th August the family-focused Marriott Dargle Trails Festival takes place, and in 2018 this hugely popular event goes into its’ 7th year. This year KZNTR has partnered with the Festival to help make this year’s staging extra-special.
This event has a unique attraction in that it appeals to trail enthusiasts of all ages and different backgrounds and is also 100% dog friendly! In 2018 much of the focus will be put on the trail running events, but this will not draw away from the other exciting activities that will be on offer.
The trails through the Dargle really do showcase the very best of the Midlands. Gently undulating landscape and farm trails through stunning grassland home to all three Crane species, as well as exciting single-track exploring both indigenous forests and plantations.
Something for everyone!
On Saturday, after an exhilarating morning on the trails, participants can look forward to a post-lunch yoga session to help them recover and prepare for the next day’s trail endeavours. After that, they can relax and take in the exhibition polo match as well as awesome live music.
For the trail enthusiast who prefers to enjoy the outdoors with their equine companion, there will be a lunchtime social outride.
Sunday sees the trail adventures continue with more trail running and walking as well as a 3km kids and dogs event. Add to that Mountain Bike distances of 5, 10 and 19km to choose from and that means that the whole family should manage to get their trail fix!
2-Day Stage Trail Run
The Dargle Trails Festival offers a staged trail run with a difference – it can be either a 2-day stage event or a single day run on either the Saturday or Sunday, with plenty of different distance options on offer; you get to choose what distance you will run each day!
