2 Days of Trail
Stage Race

Family and DoG Friendly

Going into its 7th year the Marriott Dargle Trail Festival is set to become an entire weekend of trail festivities. This year KZN Trail Running has come on board as a professional race organising partner with the Lions River Club and we are excited as this race is ready for a whole new level. In 2017 we had an estimated 1,000 people attend the event. Now stretching over two days we expect an even bigger attendance.

Taking place on the weekend of 18 and 19 August 2018 the main focus this year will be on the growing sport of trail running with a number of distances (ranging from a 3km family run through to a challenging 30km) will be on offer on both Saturday and Sunday. On the MTB front the longest course on offer will be 19km and geared towards those who ride for the experience as opposed to competitively.

The Saturday afternoon will provide the opportunity for participants to kick back and relax in the race village, enjoy the polo exhibition match on the main field, and live music later on.

For the equestrians there will be a relaxed social outride.

Sunday will feature more trail activities: running, MTB, and a 3km kids & dogs event!

Self-camping and tented options will be made available to accommodate participants on site. The greater area has a number of excellent BnBs and other establishments for those who prefer a room. Gourmet foods and craft beer and gin will be on sale throughout the weekend, with Saturday night likely to become quite festive. Entry options will include both stages and single stage entries, as well as packages that will include a spot in the race village and catering. Race entries will be great value for money, with discounts available to junior participants.

The focus of the event will be very much on the family vibe with a kids zone, fun runs and fun rides.
