Mnweni entries open, KZNTR 2022 calendar is out, Lesotho Ultra is back!

Mnweni Mountain Marathon opens with 48hr special!

Mnweni Mountain Marathon 2022 entries are OPEN!

Limited to 250 participants on the 40km course AND with a 48hr Opening Special, rumour has it those entries are going to go faster than Jacques Buys descending Rockeries Pass!!

Mnweni is the second of the 5 Mountain Marathon Series events for the 2022, and being the legendary race it is, always attracts a big field of experienced mountain runners. The full course is notoriously tough with the record time at 4hrs 32mins and the final runner nearly always finishing in the dark. The 21km is much more manageable and still shows off a lot of the incredible mountain beauty of Mnweni.

Camping, rondavel & dorm accommodation is available (but limited) at the venue – scroll to add it to your cart when entering before checking out.

It's finally out!

Putting together the annual KZNTR calendar has become a lot more challenging in these times. Not just a matter of reworking the previous year’s calendar as venues and opportunities keep changing.

But without further delay here it is…!

The most noticable change in 2022 is that we will only be hosting each event once – , no repeat races as before.
So there is now just one chance to run each race!

When we open up entries next week we will also be announcing a new annual pass that will give you access to all standard KZNTR events for the whole year at an incredible rate…

Guess who's back!

Yes, the race many have been waiting for makes a return to the Mountain Ultra scene in 2022…. Lesotho Ultra is back!

It will also form the final of the Mountain Marathon Series – what better way to settle who is The Mountain Goat of 2022.

Distances on offer will be 50km, 40km and a new 21km course!

Race entries and race packages that include accommodation at the race venue (Maliba Lodge) will be available in early December.
