Lesotho Ultra on Hold for 2021
Decision making fatigue is very real in 2021 and it’s taken us some time to come to this one, but we have focused in on events and races that have the most certainty. The Lesotho borders do not always co-ordinate their Covid Alert Levels and requirements with RSA, and although its still a long way out we have decided to suspend Lesotho Ultra until travel between the countries normalises. The extra cost incurred for each person crossing the border is also a consideration.
Lesotho Ultra sits very close to our hearts at KZNTR, so this is not an easy call to make, but we do believe the right one!
For those who have entered, we will be contacting you via email with your options – the good news being that there are some great new events towards the end of the year to pick from!
The Mountain Marathon Series final will now take place on 5 December as part of the Drakensberg Trail Festival, soon to be announced! The Lesotho Ultra weekend of 6/7 November will now be host to the North Coast Ultra (see more info below).
We have never made so many changes as we have in the last few months, its a part of our survival strategy to get through these times.
Thank you for your ongoing patience!!

North Coast Ultra 2021
KZNTR and 30South have partnered to bring you the North Coast Ultra on the first weekend of November out of Blythedale Coastal Estate!
The Blythedale trails always get great feedback from runners and we feel it fitting to give people the opportunity to run an ultra distance on this different sub-tropical terrain.
The ultra course will measure 60km, with shorter distaces of 30km and 10km available.
.
With lots of accommodation available in the Ballito and Salt Rock areas and King Shaka airport nearby, the event will be pitched as a nationwide spectacle of trail running on the KZN Coast.
