Karkloof Canopy Tour Trail Expereince and Race
With trails opening up under level 3 we are able to offer an incredible opportunity to all those willing and living in KZN to explore the forests surrounding the Karkloof Canopy Tour just outside Howick. Its definitely not business as usual and we are operating in a different manner to ensure we comply with all COVID19 rules and regulations.
Rather than the conventional trail running starts we are used to, we have opened up booking windows and slots for a maximum of 4 people at a time. Read the event page on our website for more info by clicking on the button below. Keep up to date through the FB EVENT PAGE.
It’s important that you see this as an opportunity to explore as well as race. As always KZNTR will cater to the different objectives and levels of runners, walkers and hikers. For those wanting to race the course and challenge themselves, we will run a leaderboard for a specifically marked 10km “racing route” to allow comparisons and an FKT. For those wanting to explore there will be options, extra loops, waterfalls and views for days. It’s not so much about the distance you spend out there are is it the hours, which is a place like this can be many! So come and join us, it’s just about getting out there!

R5500 raised for Ranger Protect
On the last Friday in May KZNTR teamed up with Ranger Protect, SATIB Insurance Brokers and The Game Rangers Asscoaition of Africa to raise funds and draw attention to the needs of Rangers in the field from a life and dissability cover point of view. Many of them do not have such cover which means falling on very hard times when injured, or their famalies left destitiute if killed.
Thank you to everyone who participated and supported. We look forward to offering trail and camping style expeiences alongside rangers in the field in future to continue supporting this project and raising further funds.
At R365 per ranger per year, another 15 Rangers now have cover!
