1 Month to Go to Umdoni 100
And One More Sunday Distance Added
Dear Trail Runners and Walkers,
Just four months ago, entries opened. Now we’re only one month away from the very first Umdoni 100 Miler. The final preparations are underway, both for the organisers and the runners. From recces to Thirsty Thursdays, every kilometre of this trail has been explored, tested and enjoyed. The gorge trails, coastal forest, flowing singletrack, beach section, sea views, viewing decks, stairs and that unmistakable ocean air, every part of it has been checked over in preparation. But we’re not done yet…..
We have one more surprise for you.
One more distance to launch……This one is all about atmosphere.
It doesn’t start on Saturday, it starts on Sunday. It is one loop, and it’s open to everyone. The Adventure Challenge covers just one 13.5 km loop of the course.
Come and be part of the vibe. Come and bring that extra jolt of energy. After tackling 100 or 50 miles, our ultra runners may just need that extra encouragement. And who knows? Watching them push through those final kilometres might leave you with a newfound respect for these incredible athletes or even inspire your own trail running journey.
We’re now just one month away from the inaugural Umdoni 100 Miler on the South Coast. The countdown is well and truly on, the final plans are coming together, and we’d love for you to be part of this special weekend.
Escape to the Trails. Return Rejuventated. iNsingizi this Weekend.
This weekend we return to the beautiful iNsingizi Lodge & Spa, a place that reminds us why we head to the trails in the first place. Beyond the challenge and the miles, trail running has a remarkable way of restoring us. Time spent in nature clears the mind, renews the spirit, and leaves us feeling more connected to both the landscape and ourselves.
Year after year, the iNsingizi trails continue to surprise runners. Winding through peaceful indigenous forests before climbing to breathtaking views across the Mid-Illovo countryside, they have quietly earned their place as one of KwaZulu-Natal’s hidden trail running gems.
The lodge takes its name from the southern ground-hornbill, a bird with deep significance in Zulu folklore. Traditionally regarded as the bringer of rain and a protector of the land, it is a fitting symbol for a place that offers peace, renewal, and a genuine escape into nature.
The trails are shared with an abundance of wildlife, including antelope, zebra, blue wildebeest and, if you’re fortunate enough, you may even catch a glimpse of one of the three ground-hornbills that still roam the area.
Whether you see one or not, there’s something special about spending time here. Every run offers a chance to slow down, breathe deeply, and return home feeling refreshed. It’s this sense of rejuvenation, together with spectacular trails and unforgettable scenery, that keeps runners coming back to iNsingizi year after year.

Many of you have been asking about the progress of KZNTR AC. We wanted to let you know that there has been a delay in the club formation process, which has taken a little longer than anticipated.
Until the club is officially established, we will not be selling temporary licences or club memberships. We’ll keep you updated as soon as everything is in place and look forward to sharing more details in the coming months.
Thank you for your patience and continued support.
