Dear Trail Runners and Walkers,
There’s something special about event weeks like this one—an unexplored route, fresh terrain, and that buzz of anticipation as we all wonder what the trails have in store. We’re confident it’s going to be a good one. The venue is excellent, the hosts are incredibly welcoming, and, as always, the real magic only reveals itself once runners hit the trails. Every KZNTR event takes on a life of its own… and we can’t wait to see this one unfold.
The Booth family will be there too! With exams wrapped up, we’re heading south for a bit of KZN time. If you’re joining us, we’re looking forward to catching up in person.

Early course reports describe things as “undulating”—a word I’ve caught some flak for before! The team has been out clearing and prepping, making the trails smooth and runnable, with a few honest climbs for good measure. But as always, let’s lace up, hit the route, and discover it together.

Back to Groundcover for the Christmas Trail on 14 December
We never like changing venues this late in the game, but sometimes circumstances force our hand. When that happened last week, we went straight back to our roots and revisited the places that have hosted our beloved Christmas Trail — our final celebration of the year — in years gone by.
And we’re happy to share that Groundcover Leather Co. has warmly welcomed us back as the venue for the 2025 Christmas Trail Run!
Groundcover holds a special place in our hearts: rolling farmland, beautiful shaded sections, a festive atmosphere, and the kind of hospitality that makes you feel instantly at home. It’s a space that can capture exactly what the Christmas Trail is all about — community, good vibes, and ending the year the right way: on foot, outdoors, together.
