Dear Trail Runners and Walkers,

Right on Pietermaritzburg’s doorstep, Bishopstowe offers one of the most enjoyable networks of trails in the province — open ridgelines, winding singletrack, and sweeping views of Table Mountain, where the Summer Series will reach its grand finale later this month.

It’s also where the KZNTR story began — back in October 2009, with just 75 runners lining up for our very first trail event. Sixteen years later, Bishopstowe still carries that same spark — community, adventure and a shared love of the trails — only now with a few more faces, louder cheers, and plenty of summer energy!

This is Event 2 of the KZNTR Summer Series, following last weekend’s vibrant opener at Mount Moreland. To qualify for the final standings (and those sought-after Series Badges), runners need to complete at least two of the four races in the same distance category — short, medium or long.

Next up: The Run Collective Trail Run from Infinity Adventures on 9 November, before the finale at Table Mountain (PMB) closes out the series in style later this month.

Adding to the vibe this Sunday, Mmeli Ndimande will be on the mic, bringing his trademark energy to the start line and finish area, while the Inanda Trail team joins the action on the ground. Andrew will be tuning in remotely — cheering everyone on from afar and celebrating another full-circle moment in KZNTR’s journey.
