A quick shout out to those that took on an epic Amatikulu Trail Run this past weekend. It’s proving a very unique and challenging event that brings out the best and worst in all of us! Put it in your diary for 2026 and find out why….

Looking ahead, we’re kicking off the KZNTR Summer Series this Sunday, 26 October 2025, at the beautiful Mt Moreland just inland from Durban’s north coast.

This is the first of four events in the Summer Series — to feature in the final standings, you just need to complete two of the four races in the same distance category.

Distances:

5 km – Start 07:30 (167 m elevation)
9 km – Start 07:00 (229 m elevation)
18 km – Start 06:30 (452 m elevation)

The race village opens at 06:00, with registration on site.

Mt Moreland offers a perfect blend of sugar-cane trails, gentle climbs and open farm tracks, ideal for both newcomers and seasoned runners.

You’ll pass by Froggy Pond wetlands, home to the famous Lake Victoria Barn Swallows, so keep an eye out for the spectacular birdlife.

This is one of KZN’s most accessible and scenic venues — a true feel-good start to your summer of trail running.

The Summer Series

The KZNTR Summer Series runs across four events:

2️⃣ Bishopstowe (PMB) – 2 Nov
3️⃣ Run Collective (Drummond) – 9 Nov
4️⃣ Table Mountain (PMB) – 23 Nov

Finish two or more races in the same distance category and your results will count toward the final Summer Series standings
