As runners we all have had, or aim for that one golden, perfect race. But that’s not the norm, is it?
Normal is things being a little unexpected. Something going wrong. Adapt and make a plan.
Things being hard. Really really hard.
And the decision-making about whether to make a plan and push through, because it’s worth it. Or maybe it’s not – the implications are too big and you tap out.
At KZNTR, we know what we do is worth it, so no matter what challenges each race throws at us, we adapt and make a decision based on the best possible outcomes.
We know we may not be perfect, and we are ok with that. Yes, sometimes things might be a little crazy while we make decisions, figure things out and adapt, but we focus on doing the important things well.
Yes, black & white is slick & makes a statement, but the detail is in the greys. The love is in the colour.

Starting nice and early, you can get all that at the Zululami Trail this Sunday and still have time to hit the beach with your mates and brekkie with your family.
Or you can bring your friends and family to the event! With U18 entry fee being half price and the short course child-friendly, theres no reason it can’t be a family affair!
Add to that the 18km & 10km courses run onto the beach 🌊 while the 5km stays closer to the race village but still includes stunning sea views 👌🏽
You can expect clearly marked trails, aid stations on each course, good coffee, good food and a truly colourful community!

MMS kicks off at Drakensberg Northern Trail in March.
The Mountain Marathon Series kicks off at Drakensberg Northern Trail on the first weekend of March. A series exploring epic routes through the mountains from southern KZN (Ingeli) to the anchient Soutpansberg in the far north of Sotuh Africa.
Drakensberg Northern Trail is one of KZNTR’s most celebrated routes – regularly commented as being “proper mountian running”. Technical, big climbs & descents, off the beaten track and raw beauty.
To get the full DNT experience, gather a group of friends and book a 6sleeper chalet at the race venue (aha Alpine Heath) for the weekend. Working out at R380 pppn, its some of the best value you will find and you will be fully immersed in the action and haveuse of the extesive facilities.
