Trail Details
With the success of the Garden Trail and Radius Run Series, and the newfound freedoms out of the lock down, we are excited to announce the new Virtual Winter League – a series of 4 races happening each Sunday for the month of July. This time with a new twist – courses need to be modeled around the beloved WESSA uMngeni Nature Reserve Trails in terms of distance and elevation gain (it is alright if it’s different – but this will be accounted for). So take anew to the trails, get creative and share your experiences with the trail community!

Please be sure to take all the necessary precautions – the lock down may be over but the pandemic is not! Social distancing, face masks and sanitisation are key! For more information on the trails, click on the ‘Trail Information’ tab. Lastly have fun and enjoy!
A LIVE Broadcast will be held at WESSA with Andrew and Lauren on the Sunday at the KZNTR Facebook page.
The prizes will include KZNTR vouchers and KZNTR kit. The most creative post (think pictures, videos, aid stations, marshalls, kiddies runs etc.) on the KZN Trail Running Group on Facebook will be in line for the prize. Plus, Overall League Winners will also win a Trail Shoe Voucher for Trail Shed!
As with the Garden Trail and Radius Run Series, badges and digital certificates will be available for all those that participate in 3-4 events.
For those that will be attending the trails at WESSA uMngeni Nature Reserve, please take note that:
- Family groups can start together.
- Individuals must stagger their starts.
- Social distancing and sanitizing will be practiced at the event.
- Please be sure to arrive no more than 30min before your event.

With virtual races being the new norm – we are happy to introduce the new Virtual Winter Series. Much in the same light as Garden Trail and Radius Run Series, trail blazers can get creative, creating their own course and modelling but this time modeling it the best they can after the trails of WESSA uMngeni Nature Reserve. Or, alternatively, blazers can experience the very source of inspiration of the wonderfully scenic WESSA uMngeni Valley Nature Reserve – bookings are limited!

Venue: 1 Karkloof Rd, Howick
From Pietermaritzburg (ETA 30min) and Durban (ETA 120min):
- Travel northbound on the N3.
- Take exit 103 and turn right onto the R103.
- Follow the R103 for 2 km and turn left onto Main Road.
- Follow Main Road for 2 km and turn right onto Karkloof Rd.
- Continue straight for 1.1 km and turn right into 1 Karkloof Rd.
