There will be 1 water table on the short course and 2 water tables each on the medium and long courses.
NOTE: As a part of the global movement to reduce single-use plastics and treat our environment with respect, KZNTR water tables will now be cupless, so please bring your own trail cup, water bottles, hydration packs for on course hydration and refills!
‘Coedmore Castle’ is a historic building dating back to 1875 situated within the green lung of the Kenneth Stainbank Ezemvelo/KZN Wildlife Nature Reserve in Yellowwood Park, and is a magnificent setting! Although the Castle has been left to the State, the family has retained responsibility for its management and upkeep.
Having not hosted a daytime trail event until last year, the family has worked with the Wildlife authorities to develop both running and MTB trails within the Reserve and these are now well established as some of the finest trail routes within easy reach of greater Durban.
The event will offer three courses: an accessible 5km run / walk; a challenging 10km run for more experienced athletes wanting to shake off the extra pudding from the festive season and a long course of +/- 15km which will take in areas of the Reserve not normally run in and will be technically challenging.
KZNTR KidZone available for children 2yrs+, so parents can get out on the trails! Experienced childminders and stimulating, fun games including a treasure hunt around the castle grounds!
Some of the proceeds from the race will go towards both Ezemvelo / KZN Wildlife for allowing us to use their trails and also towards the upkeep of the Castle.
