Leg tester at the Run Collective Trail this Sunday!
Dear Trail Runners and Walkers,
Starting and finishing at Run Collective / Talloula Cafe in Botha’s Hill, this event is going to be a proper challenge. Descending into the Valley of 1000 Hills and you’ve got it….climbing back out again!
The routes include the 1000 Hills Park Run route (if you know you know…), so even the short course is a real toughie, but with infinity views into the valley, it is so worthwhile.
The courses include a mix of dirt road, dual track and single track, the routes traverse thick valley bushveld and although tough as nails, received great reviews last year!.
The Run Collective shop will be open so you can gear up for your adventure.
Walkers are welcome on the 6km & 11km. The team at Talloula Treat Café will be ready to get your caffeine levels up before you hit the trail and restore your energy levels post-run.
A perfect start to your Sunday, and being just outside Hillcrest, you don’t have to travel far!

New short course package at Kruger2Canyon Challenge
Having done some recce-ing on Mariepskop, we have put together a new shorter course package at K2C!
Previously unattainable for so many, this 16km & 14km combo is ideal for people wanting to get a taste of K2C but who have been intimidated by its massive reputation.
Running 30km over the 2 days will give you a great sense of the magnificent Mariepskop Mountain and the contrasting Lowveld bushveld.
Day 1 is still all about the mountain and participants will have the same opening climb as the other two courses, but the loop on top is smaller, but still seriously spectacular.
Day 2 also enters the reserve, but a smaller loop means that the day is 14km.
𝗤𝗨𝗜𝗖𝗞 𝗜𝗡𝗙𝗢:
1 & 2 July 2023
Laerskool Mariepskop, Kampersrus
16km & 14km
Full package (incl. meals & accomm) or Entry only package available.
So set any intimidation aside and come and experience K2C!
Pafuri, Northern Kruger - walk with Andrew
2 places remain up on a trail through the Pafuri Region over Easter weekend.
I’ll guide you along the Luvuvhu River to some secret spots, only visited by a few people prepared to go into the bush on foot.
It’s an opportunity to escape the busy pace of the world, immerse into nature and reset your mind and body.
It is a transformative experience, I experience each time I visit this ancient landscape.
We’ll camp under Baobabs and alongside the River where we will swim to cool off. We’ll watch Sunrises and Sunsets and find comfort around the camp fire. We’ll walk in silence and stop to look at all things bug and small. We’ll track elephants and find rare birds.
We will just Be in the bush for 3 special nights.
Easter weekend 7 – 10 April 2023
R4200pp – Only 2 places available.
Departs close to Pafuri Gate, Kruger NP
You’ll know if this is what you want, and you’ll know if you have that weekend free. Email Andrew on andrew@kzntrailrunning.co.za if you are interested.
