Charting the waters through the 3rd Wave
Dear Trail Runners and Walkers,
As you well know by now, as a member of SAAMES, we have a permit to operate under Covid Alert Levels 1 & 2. While we were expecting some tightening by the President, we did not expect the Level 3 Announcement, so it came as a big blow to us and many other affected industries.
However, we all know the hill has to end somewhere, so we are re-working our calendar (again) and have managed to avoid cancelling pretty much all races… – please see below;

The Spring Mnweni has unfortunately been cancelled – we will liasie with all entrants via email tomorrow.
Entries will be automatically transferred to the new date. However, if you are not able to make the new date, we are more than happy to transfer your entry to another event of your choice, or alternatively, issue you with a credit voucher that will be valid for a year from the date of issue.
Please understand that cash refunds are very difficult during these times.
In light of the Covid developments, we have been working on some really exciting, covid-friendly Trail Experiences that will keep you on the trails and the gees up! We will be launching these early next week, so keep an eye on your inbox and our social media channels!
You may have seen that the Karkloof Trail Series Marathon has been postponed this weekend, but you can still come and run some phenomenal trails, have a chat and a braai at the club on Saturday.
And of course, you can support us by purchasing the gorgeous new KZNTR long-sleeve shirt (see below).
Orders will stay open for the next few weeks, but those completed and paid for by Sunday 20 June will be produced in the first run (production starting next week).
So if you want to sport your trail swag soonest, get your order in asap!

So often it is you, our participants, half-way up some lonely hill that wasn’t mentioned in the race briefing, hurting, wondering when it will be over and if you have what it takes to get to the finish line. Through Covid, the shoe has been on the other foot. Except the hill we (KZNTR) have been on is not lonely – the trail community has been lined up alongside us, ringing bells, high-fiving and cheering for us to keep slogging on.
And so we will!!
Stay safe and see you on the trails,
The KZNTR Team
