1000 Hills Challenge – KZNTR’s Most Accessible “Big 6” Event

2018 is at its’ halfway mark and KZNTR events have to date explored sublime trails in stunning locations, but the best has yet to come with an awesome line up of events for the remainder of the year, including 5 of the KZNTR “Big 6”.

The longest standing of these is the 1000 Hills Challenge which has, over the years, earned itself almost cult status on the trail running scene, attracting participants from all over the country. Last year it was our largest Big 6 event, and this year looks set to follow suit.

It is also the most accessible of the premier events, in terms of location, distances offered and event infrastructure.

FOR EVERYONE

Taking place at the stunning Msinsi Nagle Dam just 40 minutes from Pietermaritzburg, participants can choose from 5, 10, 20 and 38km. The 5km was introduced last year with the intention of opening up the event to a wider range of trail enthusiasts and together with the 10km is well suited for most abilities and fitness levels of both runners and walkers.

The 38km has a well-deserved reputation for being a real tester. Trail warriors can expect a good dose of hills and technical variety, but the effort is well worth the reward of the achievement! Not to mention the sheer, raw beauty of the valley.

  1. Hi.
I am trying to register for a race and whenever I click ‘ENTER NOW’ option, it does not allow me to access race entry forms.
