Due to the recent spike of the Covid-19 pervasiveness, along with a request made by landowners to rather keep the public off their land and social distance from their teams working on their properties, the decision has been made to host the Karkloof 100 Training Camp virtually.
Friday, 17 July 2020
- 6:00pm – Online Forum; Training and nutrition with 2 guests
Saturday, 18 July 2020
- Morning – 20-30km run; to be logged virtually on Strava.
- 3:00pm – Online forum with guest speaker
- 5:30pm – 5km night trail; if possible and to be logged onto Strava
Sunday, 19 July 2020
- Morning – 20km Recovery run; to be logged onto Strava
- 6:00pm – Karkloof Conversations
WESSA uMngeni Valley Nature Reserve
The first 10km of the race route in WESSA will be open for an out and back look. Please make your own arrangements to access the facility. Trail Experiences can be booked by clicking here.

Please note: All Karkloof 100 Package Holders have a free entry to the training camp.
The Karkloof100 is a 100 Mile Endurance Foot Race set to take place from the 25th to 27th of September 2020 in the Karkloof area of KZN. In preparation for the Karkloof100, this training camp will provide a glimpse of what to expect for the 100 miler, taking runners through the renowned indigenous forests, wetlands and grasslands.
Please note that substitutions can be made but need to be finalised a week before the camp and will have a R100 admin fee. For more information and to make a substitution, email info@kzntrailrunning.co.za
Directions to WESSA
Venue: 1 Karkloof Rd, Howick
From Pietermaritzburg (ETA 30min) and Durban (ETA 120min):
- Travel northbound on the N3.
- Take exit 103 and turn right onto the R103.
- Follow the R103 for 2 km and turn left onto Main Road.
- Follow Main Road for 2 km and turn right onto Karkloof Rd.
- Continue straight for 1.1 km and turn right into 1 Karkloof Rd.
