1000 Hills Challenge - Opening special until 1 June!
Entries are open for this long-standing event that has proven to be popular since 2011 when it first took place under the KZNTR banner as the “Nagle Dam Trail Run”. If you get your entry in before 1 June as part of the opening special you’ll receive 15% off the entry fee.
The long course is a toughie – it’s not called the Valley of 1000 Hills for nothing… But with toughness comes an experience, a day in life you are unlikely to forget, so don’t be afraid to bite off a big chunk of life and take on this long one!
The 20km is not to be laughed at either and includes some decent “undulations” and an epic river crossing. The 5km and 10km provide great opportunities for all runners, walkers, explorers and families.
The event has many highlights, but the tunnel under the dam tops it (not part of the 5km) as a unique experience. So line this one up by entering this week before the special ends, and get training of course!

When – Sunday 25 July 2021

Ultimate escape at WESSA
The finale of the Midlands Series takes us back to one of our most-loved venues in the KZNTR backyard.
WESSA offers incredible sections of single-track hugging cliff tops, tunnelling through riverine forests, river crossings, expansive views and the concrete strips we all love to hate…
After the rush and pressure of the work / school week, it’s pushing Pause and Reset.
Its somehow filling the energy tank while emptying it at the same time.
Providing a connection but also “me time”.
These are the contrasts of WESSA and it is the ultimate escape right on our doorstep!
And by the way the long course is a toughie too! And there is always a sting in the tail…

We are going to set up a well-equipped and supplied race village and encourage as many of you as possible to camp there on site as possible, so we have included this in the entry fee. However if camping is not your vibe, both Blythedale and nearby Ballito have some great options.
QUICK INFO:
Where – Blythedale Coastal Estate
When – Saturday 6 November 2021
What – 60km, 30km and 10km trails
Why – Because running an Ultra along South Africa’s coastline is a very cool thing to do. If that’s not a great reason, we are sure you have your own!
